MyEV Can Charge Electric Cars For Only RM8

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has developed a system capable of charging numerous types of electric cars in Malaysia to travel 160 km for only RM8.

The My Electrical Vehicle (MyEV) was developed by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's Advanced Informatic School (UTM AIS) at the university's Kuala Lumpur campus in cooperation with Panasonic Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd and General Electric Malaysia.

UTM AIS project director Prof Datuk Norbik Bashah Idris said the MyEV system took 45 minutes at the charging station and four hours at home to fully charge an electric car.

Speaking at a press conference, here,Monday, he said by using MyEV, an electric car could save 80 per cent in transportation cost, compared to the ordinary car.

Norbik said well-known vehicle brands such as Nissan and Mitsubishi had indicated interest to use MyEV in their electric car models.

You should only use the hazard lights to warn traffic that you've had to stop in some sort of emergency. Turning on the hazard lights and still driving on is dangerous. If more and more motorists use their hazard lights when they are still moving, those who use them when they actually stall would be in danger of being knocked into by traffic behind them.
