Perodua Maintains Sales Target At 202,000 Units

KUALA LUMPUR, April 20  (Bernama) -- Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is maintaining its sales target at 202,000 units for the year, said President/Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.

The group's sales had improved quarter-to-quarter, recording a 6.6 per cent growth despite a challenging first quarter of 2017 (1Q17), he said.

Aminar said the group had sold 50,300 units in 1Q17 compared to 47,500 units in the corresponding 1Q16.

"However, we remain cautious for the next three quarters due to the prevailing challenging environment," Aminar told reporters after launching the Perodua Total Protect motor insurance programme here today.

Currently, Perodua has over three million customers nationwide, he said.

Meanwhile, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Datuk Dr Zahari Husin , said the Perodua Total Protect motor insurance programme provided additional benefits and long-term protection for the customers.

He said the programme provided full coverage of the sum insured for the vehicle’s first five years.

"In the event of total loss or theft, the customer is entitled for the full sum insured and not based on market value at the time of the loss," said Zahari.

He said among other things, the programme offered free 24/7 towing service and provided coverage for flood damage and loss of personal belongings due to vehicle break-in or stolen vehicle.

Customers keen to buy the Perodua Total Protect motor insurance only need to pay a premium from as low as RM206.65 to RM873.70 from three to five years.

Perodua had partnered with 16 insurance panels for the programme, including Allianz and Liberty Insurance.

You should only use the hazard lights to warn
traffic that you've had to stop in some sort of emergency. Turning on the hazard lights and still driving on is dangerous. If more and more
motorists use their hazard lights when they
are still moving, those who use them when they actually stall would be in danger of being
knocked into by traffic behind them
