  Boon Siew, Honda Ink Agreement To Export RS150R Motorcycle

CYBERJAYA, April 20 (Bernama) -- Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd today an inked agreement with Honda Motor Co. Ltd. to export the Malaysian assembled RS150R motorcycle model.

The motorcycles will be assembled at Boon Siew's Honda facility in Batu Kawan, Penang. 

Boon Siew Honda Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nobuhide Nagata in his speech at the signing ceremony  at the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) here said the motorcycles would be exported from next month. 

"Boon Siew Honda targets  700 units for the first year," he added.

Nagata said the model's local content had reached 53 per cent in line with the National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2014 requirements. 

Speaking to reporters after the signing ceremony, Boon Siew Honda Deputy Chairman and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Tan Hui Jing said the  RS 150R motorcycles would be exported to Singapore initially before being expanded to other countries. 

Meanwhile, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Motorcycle Operations, Sales Division Department Manager, Yoshitaka Nakamura thanked the Malaysian government for its long term support of Honda’s business operations in the country since 1957.
