MODENAS-KISMEC To Implement Programme To Reduce Fatal Accidents Involving Motorbikes
Last update: 03/10/2017

GURUN, Oct 3 (Bernama) -- The cooperation between Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS) and the Kedah Industrial and Management Skills Development Centre  (KISMEC) hopes to be able to reduce accidents and fatalities involving morotcycles through the implementation of the Courteous Motorcycle Riding Programme.

MODENAS Chief Executive Officer Amirudin Abd Kadir said, MODENAS as a motorcycle manufacturing plant felt the need to also contribute towards efforts to reduce the statistics on road accidents and fatalities.

"We are aware that accidents and fatalities involving motorcycles are rising each year, thus MODENAS had taken its own initiative by creatng the Safety Riding program but the result did not meet the target due to the shortage in terms of cost and time.

"However, the collaboration between MODENAS and KISMEC was seen to be capable of stimulating positive developments for the programme," he told reporters after the signing of the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) between MODENAS and KISMEC here, today.

Also present were KISMEC Executive Director, Mohd Yusuri Yusof, Director of the Kedah Road Safety Department (JKJR), Chan Pei Hong and Principal Assistant Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Department (JKKP), Basharuddin Abd Rahman.

You should only use the hazard lights to warn
traffic that you've had to stop in some sort of emergency. Turning on the hazard lights and still driving on is dangerous. If more and more
motorists use their hazard lights when they
are still moving, those who use them when they actually stall would be in danger of being
knocked into by traffic behind them
